About
The Assembly is an independent, student-led organisation founded in London by two students who wanted better reasons to leave the library.

To give London’s students a reliable place to meet ambitious people outside their own course and university, through well-run, in-person events focused on law, business and the careers that sit between them.
University networking tends to happen inside silos: law societies meet law students, business societies meet business students, and firm presentations are built for recruitment rather than conversation. We wanted something in between: a recurring set of evenings where a future barrister can meet a future founder, and both come away with something useful.
We focus on law and business because that is where our own interests lie, and because the two fields share more than their students often realise: commercial awareness, negotiation, regulation, risk and ambition. Our events are open to students of any discipline who share those interests.
Every event is designed around conversation. We keep numbers manageable, publish who each event is for, introduce guests to one another, and prefer a good room and a clear format over a large headcount. We never sell your details, and we only share your name with other members if you choose to.
Collaborate
We would like to hear from university societies, firms, chambers, founders and speakers interested in hosting or supporting an event. We will only list organisations we genuinely work with, and only with their permission.
